Just after turning 40, I went through a very stressful time and my health suffered greatly from it. After doing my own research and rigorous self study, I discovered I had Hashimoto’s (a thyroid autoimmune disease). and began a journey of discovering the root causes of disease. I have a vast amount of empathy for anyone struggling because of my own health issues. I learned there are many facets of health that need to be addressed to be truly WELL. I have taken a deep dive into many systems including circadian rhythm, optimized nutrition, weight loss, natural movement, stress management, gut health, social support, and light exposure. I excel at listening to understand the root cause of symptoms and can effectively communicate a plan of action. I have the unique ability to be gentle and make people feel safe, while being direct and effective. My goal is always to meet clients where they are, then educate and inspire them to take steps towards lasting change and success!
Life gets interesting for women nearing the “BIG 50” in so many ways. This phase sees so many changes to what we are used to and to what has defined us for so many years. One of the challenges in this important stage of life is how to tackle our health and overall well-being. Like so many of my friends in my same age group, what we know for sure is: what worked then simply doesn’t work now. So now what? For me, I was fortunate enough to have a dear friend and colleague, Tonya Clark, to help me along and through my journey. Tonya’s passion for overall health and wellness along with her story of triumph over challenge inspired me to take a “walk of wellness” with her and lean on her knowledge and experience that have helped me gain a better understanding and approach to this phase of my life. Tonya’s professional approach to my specific needs and the way she tailored a plan for me that fit my lifestyle, my goals, and my specific challenges, was just what I needed. Tonya’s knowledge of nutrition, her holistic and natural approach to gut, immune and endocrine support has completely reshaped (literally) my body and has helped keep it simple for me to stay on track and achieve realistic results.
